zom·bie 'zämbe/ A zombie walk is an organized public gathering of people who dress up in zombie costumes that walk a predetermined route. Participants usually meet in an urban center and make their way around the city streets and public spaces in an orderly fashion. Zombie walkers try to maintain zombie-like behavior such as shuffling, grunting and moaning. The earliest documented zombie walks were in the early 2000's. They became more widespread in North America in 2005 and grew in size. The Portland, Oregon zombie walk in 2009 drew 1000 zombies. Location:
Starting at Multi Arts Center and approximately 11 block walk in the surrounding neighborhood to cultural centers and through Main Street back to the art center to participate in the Monster's Ball at 7 pm that includes belly dancers and appetizers for the exhibit, "Oddities and Freaks".
