The Oklahoma State University School of Global Studies and Partnerships, in collaboration with the OSU departments of Geography and Political Science, will host Glen Howard for the final OSU Global Briefing Series event of 2018 on Thursday, Nov. 15, at 6 p.m. in Room 108 Wes Watkins Center with a light reception in atrium at 5:30 p.m. Howard is the President of the Jamestown Foundation in Washington D.C. Its mission is to inform and educate policy makers and the public about events and trends in areas that are strategically or tactically important to U.S., especially relating to Eurasia and terrorism. The Jamestown Foundation utilizes indigenous and primary sources to gather this intelligence. The talk is titled “The Future of U.S. – Russia Relations” and will focus on the ever-changing relationship between the U.S. and Russia and its impact. Howard is a leading expert on U.S. - Russia relations and President of the Jamestown Foundation, a Washington, D.C. based institute of non-partisan global research analysis on Eurasian security and political developments. He is fluent in Russian and proficient in Azerbaijani and Arabic, and is also a regional expert on the Caucasus and Central Asia. He was formerly an Analyst at the Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) Strategic Assessment Center. Howard's articles have appeared in The Wall Street Journal, the Central Asia-Caucasus Analyst, and Jane’s Defense Weekly. Howard has served as a consultant to the private sector and governmental agencies, including the U.S. Department of Defense, the National Intelligence Council and major oil companies operating in Central Asia and the Middle East. The School of Global Studies and Partnerships Global Briefing Series began after Sept. 11, 2001, to educate and inform the public about developing events, both in the United States and abroad. Visiting scholars, experts and world leaders deliver briefings to provide a global perspective on current events.
