Town & Gown Theatre presents “Stage and Screen,” a new musical revue – live and in person!
Town & Gown Theatre in Stillwater, OK is proud to announce a special musical presentation, “Stage and Screen,” opening Thursday, August 5th. This fun-filled evening of cabaret-style performances will include beloved numbers from classic musicals - some inspired by movies and others that spurred movie remakes themselves. Encompassing nearly two hours of singing, dancing, and more, the show will mark Town & Gown’s highly anticipated return to live productions and kick off its 71st season with a bang. And the best part for patrons? Admission is free!
COVID-19 caused major changes for a lot of theaters across the nation, including Town and Gown. As director Sydney Weiser, a veteran of many Town & Gown shows, put it best, “After a year of all our entertainment coming from screens, we decided to bring the screen to the stage. We hope this musical revue will be the first of a great slate of live performances from Town and Gown this season.”
Although admission will be completely free for all patrons, there are opportunities to “sponsor” songs and dance numbers. Solos or duets can be sponsored for a donation of $150; ensemble songs can be sponsored for $225; and dance numbers are available for sponsorship for $300. The number of remaining sponsorships is limited, so Town & Gown urges interested patrons to contact the director at firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible.
“Stage and Screen” will run at Town & Gown Theatre from Thursday, August 5th through Sunday, August 8th. Showtimes are at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday evenings and 2:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first served basis only. Town & Gown requests that all attendees wear masks to protect themselves and other patrons.
