Time: 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM CST
Event Description:

(STILLWATER, OKLA. / Sept. 3, 2012) – Complexity of rules and reluctance to address daunting issues often cause people to delay making important health care decisions.  Tina Morton, a licensed clinical social worker, will visit the Stillwater Public Library to help explain two of these complex health care issues.  On Friday, Nov. 16, Morton will discuss advance directives, and on Friday, Nov. 30, she will tackle Medicare Part D.

“The sessions are designed to help participants learn the facts they need to make important decisions about their health,” said Morton.  “In times of medical need and certainly during times of crisis, you do not want your family to have to try to untangle all of the rules and guess at your wishes.”

Morton has been on the staff of Carter Healthcare for the last 19 years.  She has been a part of both home health and hospice programs, yet considers hospice her calling.  She graduated with a Masters in Social Work from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, after having completed undergraduate work and Oklahoma State University.

The health classes are free and open to the public and will take place at 10 a.m. in Room 119 of the library.  To sign up for the classes, please call 405-372-3633 x106, email askalibrarian@stillwater.org or register online from the library’s website at http://library.stillwater.org/.

The Stillwater Public Library is located at 1107 S. Duck St. (the corner of Duck and 12th Ave.). Library hours are Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
