Help people in need, Give back, Rewarding are all reasons current volunteer of Judith Karman share their time. Judith Karman Hospice, a non-profit agency, serve terminally ill patients and their families in Stillwater and surrounding communities. A new training session runs both daytime and evening beginning Tues., June 3, at JKH office, 915 S. Main.

Core training, required for all volunteers, will be from 9-3:30 on Tues. June 3 or 5-7:30 both Tues., June 3 and Wed., June 4.Volunteers wishing to train for patient care will continue with training Wed., June 4, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. or 5-9 p.m.

Volunteers choose what type of and how much time they’d like to give to volunteer. All volunteer positions require training from JKH staff. We want our volunteers to understand why we’re here and why we do what we do. All training is Medicare approved.

In addition to volunteering for patient support, other volunteer responsibilities may include the opportunity to work with the bereaved families, in Karman Korner resale shop, in the hospice administrative office, as occasional helpers with special events, our Pet Peace of Mind program or any combination of the possibilities.
