Highlight the OSU Department of Design, Housing and Merchandising Apparel Design students collection of denim and knits for summer 2015 inspired by the tenets of the 1960's Pop Art movement.
With the occasion of James Rosenquist: Illustrious Works on Paper, Illuminating Paintings at the OSU Museum of Art, apparel designers from the OSU Department of Design, Housing and Merchandising (DHM) developed a collection of designer denim and knits for summer 2015 inspired by the tenets of the 1960s Pop Art movement.
As a group, the DHM Advanced Apparel Design class determined a target market, color story, and vision for the collection. Employing industry standards to engineer the garment to fit specific body types and to design, plan, and execute original prints using screen and digital printing, the designers have demonstrated a fusion of art, fashion, design, and technique that will undoubtedly delight and surprise viewers.
The fashion show will be followed by an open forum where the designers will explain their process and attendees can examine the pieces more closely. This event is free and open to the public. No RSVP is required. Seating will be on a first come, first served basis.
