Learn skills that may help you survive an unexpected emergency, including starting a fire, finding water, creating shelter, and finding your way back to civilization! (Limited to 40 - Registration required) Registration opens September 15th "NEA Big Read: Stillwater" is the Stillwater Public Library's tenth community-wide reading series. Survival and resilience will be explored through the books "Station Eleven" by Emily St. John Mandel and the "NEA Little Read" title "Blackout" by John Rocco. The shared community reading experience highlights the important message that mere survival is insufficient. Arts, reading, and community ties make survival worthwhile. The series takes place Oct. 2-Nov. 11 and includes programs with partners Oklahoma State University School of Teaching, Learning and Educational Sciences; Oklahoma State University Libraries; Stillwater History Museum at the Sheerar, and City of Stillwater. NEA Big Read is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest.
