Hope is a Verb
On the morning of April 19, 1995 at precisely 9:02 a.m. an empty Ryder truck, parked in front of the Alfred P. Murrah Building located in downtown Oklahoma City, exploded. Within moments, the surrounding area looked like a war zone. A third of the building had been reduced to rubble, with many floors flattened like a stack of pancakes. Dozens of cars were incinerated and more than 300 nearby buildings were damaged or destroyed. The bombing became the deadliest terrorism attack on U.S. soil at that time, including 168 souls lost, 19 of which were children, with several hundred more injured.
At the time of the attack, Amy Downs was a credit loan officer working for Federal Employees Credit Union in the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building. She had flunked out of college and weighed more than 350 pounds. As one of the last survivors to be pulled from the rubble, she realized she had never really lived before that moment. Waiting for over six hours, Downs promised God she would never live her life the same if she were rescued. Today, Amy LIVES to tell about it.

All attendees will receive a free copy of her book Hope is a Verb. Transformation U is an inspiring luncheon that provides members an afternoon of camaraderie and great food. Held annually in the spring, this event hosts a new captivating guest speaker each year who shares his or her success (and failure) stories with our members and inspires them to make a positive change in their own lives. Transform your mind, transform your spirit, transform you.
