Coming off another successful season with the record 6-2-1, Carmichael lead his team to be a dominant force in the Big 12 Conference under his tenure with six leagues titles, including four in a row from 2008-2011. Most recently, being crowned regular season conference champions in 2017 and again in 2019, earning him Big 12 Coach of the Year for a conference-record sixth time.
