Event Description:
Join us to recognize the best and brightest Young Professionals in the Stillwater community as we celebrate our Leaders Under 40 recipients. Each of the individuals do so much for their communities and we want to know how appreciative we all are for their continued work and service in Stillwater.
We will also hear from Oklahoma Secretary of Agriculture, Blayne Arthur, the state's first female to hold this position. She acts as Governor Stitt's chief advisor on policy development and implementation related to agriculture, food and forestry, and holds the titles of Oklahoma Commissioner of Agriculture and the President of the Oklahoma State Board of Agriculture. In her capacity Secretary Arthur also serves on the OSU A&M Board of Regents, the State Board of Equalization and the Commissioners of the Land Office.
Secretary Arthur grew up in Chickasha, Oklahoma, where her family raised horses, cattle, wheat, alfalfa, and soybeans. Upon graduating from Oklahoma State University, with a degree in agriculture economics, Arthur took role in a small-business financing company, traveling throughout the state. She is married to Jerrod Arthur and they have to children, Kelton and Kennedy, who both enjoy showing cattle and horses. The family lives east of Stillwater and raise show cattle for 4-H and FFA members.
The application will be reviewed by two independent rounds of five judges each. The judges include community leaders in education, government affairs, business, non-profits and past winners of the award. The applicants are scored on their professional and philanthropic involvement in the community and/or their profession. In addition to the recognition ceremony, the event includes lunch and a guest speaker during the program.
