Looking for a way to impact the life of a child in our local community this holiday season? Please consider participating in Holiday Heroes, an annual outreach initiative benefiting Payne County foster families.
There are two ways for YPS members to participate:
1.Purchase a gift for a foster child.Every foster child receives a $30-$35 gift from Santa at the event. Instead of an angel tree, we have Hero Cards delivered to your email inbox. Each card identifies the first name, age, wish list and gender of the foster child along with instructions for purchasing, wrapping and dropping off gifts. If you would like to sponsor a gift (or multiple gifts), please email philip.goodwin@okstate.edu with any specific criteria you prefer (gender, age, etc.).
2.Volunteer at the event. This year, we are hosting a socially distant, drive-thru event on Friday, December 4 from 5:30 to 7:30p.m. Special accommodations are being made to ensure the event is safe for our foster families and volunteers, and masks will be required. As a volunteer, you will assist with setup, direct traffic, facilitate drive-thru stations and activities and help with tear down. Due to confidentiality issues, all volunteers must email their interest in advance to philip.goodwin@okstate.edu. Event location and additional details will be emailed to confirmed volunteers.
