Event Description:
Understanding our State Budget
With our state facing yet another budget shortfall, Oklahomans want to know how government dollars are being spent, which agencies receive the largest shares and how the budget deficit will impact our state. Through clear graphics and important background, State Chamber of Oklahoma executives Mike Jackson and Cordon DeKock break down the complexities of our state's budget into a manageable and meaningful understanding of our state's financial situation.
Mike joined the State Chamber in 2014 after serving for 10 years in the Oklahoma House of Representatives. Jackson served the last two years as the Speaker Pro Tempore of the House and served on all committees. He helped with the development of rules, presided over numerous sessions and passed many bills that were good for business. Prior to serving in the Legislature, Jackson was the Northwest Field Representative for U.S. Senator Jim Inhofe and the Public Information Officer for the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture.
The Legislative Luncheon provides an opportunity for Chamber members to hear from our elected local, State and Federal key leaders. As a member, join us for an opportunity to advocate for issues of importance to the Stillwater community. Speakers will provide an inside look at our state or Federal legislature and answer questions from the audience.
